Stanford mourns “bright shining light” Katie Meyer amid death at 22

Stanford girls’s soccer participant Katie Meyer has handed away at the age of 22, the varsity wrote in a tribute on its web site.

Her death was confirmed on Wednesday by Stanford Vice Provost for Student Affairs Susie Brubaker-Cole to college students and the local people.

“Fiercely competitive, Katie made two critical saves in a penalty shootout against North Carolina to help Stanford win its third NCAA women’s soccer championship in 2019. Katie was a bright shining light for so many on the field and in our community,” the varsity added.
