How Biden’s State of the Union 2022 viewership reaction compares with 2021

A CNN ballot has revealed the viewership reaction to President Joe Biden’s State of the Union 2022 speech.

The share of respondents to the ballot who expressed a “very positive” reaction to the president’s speech was increased in 2021, with 2022’s share the lowest in 15 years, the Daily Mail studies.

Post-speech poll reveals viewership reactions

A CNN poll conducted by SSRS has revealed viewers’ takeaways from Biden’s State of the Union speech this year.

As per CNN, more than two-thirds (71%) of those who watched the SOTU speech had a “positive” reaction, whereas little more than two-fifths (41%) of viewers had a “very positive” reaction.

More than two-thirds (69%) of viewers mentioned they have been “satisfied” with Biden’s deal with on the Russia-Ukraine battle, whereas virtually half (47%) thought he talked sufficiently about inflation.

According to the Daily Mail, the ballot hit comparable numbers to these collated after George W Bush’s 2007 SOTU.

How 2022 SOTU viewership compares with 2021

According to Statista, Biden’s 2021 speech to Congress, which wasn’t formally billed as a State of the Union deal with, was seen by about 27 million individuals, with 85% approving of the speech.

More than half (51%) of viewers had a “very positive” reaction to the 2021 speech, topping the 41% who had the identical reaction for the 2022 speech.

Less than one-fifth (18%) of YouGov respondents who recognized themselves as Republicans tuned in to Biden’s 2021 deal with to Congress.

How Biden’s 2022 SOTU compares with earlier speeches

As per CNN, Donald Trump’s 2018 SOTU speech had a 48% “very positive” reaction from viewers, equivalent to the reaction to Barack Obama’s 2010 SOTU.

Trump’s 2018 and 2019 addresses every reached greater than 45 million viewers, Forbes studies. Likewise, Obama’s 2010 speech topped 48 million.
